How Do Jabber Jaw Mobile Prepaid Phones Work?
Prepaid mobile phones (prepaid wireless) are different from traditional post-pay phone plans in that credit is purchased in advance of use. Credits pay for phone service mobile phone services once they are used. Without purchasing credits in advance, no mobile phone service requests can be honored by the Cricket network. Customers are able to add credits at any time using a variety of payment options. A prepaid mobile phone has access to most, if not all, of the services offered by a post-pay mobile network operator. Post-paid mobile services, utilizing long-term mobile phone contracts, are different from prepaid mobile services in that they allow overages in use (leading to outrageous bills), run credit checks (leading to refusals of service) and sign customers up for periods of two or more years (with high cancellation fees).
Prepaid mobile phones carry a running balance that can be checked at any time to determine when credits need to be added. Credits can be added by purchasing “top-up” or refill cards that come with a unique PIN that you enter into the phone to add the credit to your balance, with a credit or debit card by phone or at a Jabber Jaw Mobile location. Prepaid plans have the advantage of providing a lower cost for low usage (emergency use) and help customers manage their spending by eliminating the incurred debt of a long-term contract. There is no early termination fee and you can easily change between plans and are ideal for minors under 18 years of age.
The Future of Cricket
"The wireless industry is evolving toward a completely new model and everything we announced today is aligned with this new dynamic," said Doug Hutcheson, Cricket’s president and CEO. "We are one hundred percent focused on realizing our vision for the industry and Cricket's leading position in it. We believe we have the right assets, the right plan and the right model to seize the huge opportunity in front of us and be the national leader in prepaid."
What is a 3G Network?
3G, or 3rd generation, mobile networks is a set of standards for mobile telecommunications services according to specifications by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). These service include wide-area wireless phone, mobile Internet, mobile TV and video calling. The advances of the 3G network as opposed to the old 2G standard are that systems must allow simultaneous speech and data services, 200 kbit/s of peak data usage and recent 3G upgrades allow broadband access of multiple Mbit/s to smartphones and laptops.
3G networks also allow broadband users more freedom than Wi-Fi connections in that a user may access high-speed Internet anywhere inside the network coverage area. Wi-Fi users are limited only to areas with Wi-Fi connectivity.
3G Network Security
When compared to 2G networks, 3G networks offer much-enhanced security. 3G networks allow user equipment to authenticate a network so that you can be sure you are on the intended network. 3G networks also use a more advanced block crytpo (KASUMI) as opposed to older ciphers that offered less protection. 3G networks also offer application security when users access apps and third-party programs.

The More broadband plan, ideal for travelers who need to surf the Web and send emails away from home, provides a top sped of 5 GB allowing for larger data transfers with a 250-hour browsing time equivalent.
The Premium broadband plan, perfect for users as a primary Internet connection for home and on-the-go, provides a top speed of 7 GB allowing a full range of Internet use including: video streaming, chatting, social networking and more at a 375-hour browsing time equivalent.
What is Broadband?
Broadband, or high-speed, Internet access is so called because it transmits data at a high rate. The Federal Communications Commission standard definition of broadband is Internet access at 4.0 Mbit/s and most areas carry broadband through a digital subscriber line (DSL) or through cable. DSL is a host of technologies providing data over a local phone network. DSL is offered with regular phone service on the same line because they operate at a different frequency and are separated by filters.
DSL data transmission to the customer (downstream) is typically as high as 20 Mbit/s depending on a number of factors. The data transmission back to the service provider (upstream) is lower in asymmetrical DSL (ADSL) and equal in symmetrical DSL (SDSL). Internet service providers (ISPs) generally use an unlimited, flat-rate model in terms of pricing rather than charging hourly or per date volume. This is largely due to new and increased demand for video streaming and file sharing that maximize the need for higher Internet speeds.
2010 saw the highest worldwide use of broadband Internet with over 500 million subscribers. Countries around the world have worked to provide broadband access affordably to help promote economic and educational development and to increase the availability of information.
